Type O : Part II

OILS AND FATS
Type Os respond well to oils. They can be an important source of nutrition and an aid to elimination. You will increase their value in your system if you limit your use to the mono-unsaturated varieties, such as olive oil and linseed oil. These oils have positive effects on the heart and arteries even help to reduce blood cholesterol.

HIGHLY BENEFICIAL
NEUTRAL
AVOID
Linseed (flaxseed) oil
Olive oil
Rapessed (Canola) oil
Cod liver oil
Sesame oil
Corn oil
Cottonseed oil
Groundnut oil
Safflower oil

NUTS AND SEEDS
Are not essential in the diet, and should be eaten selectively, as they are high in fat. Anyone try to lose weight should avoid them. Since nuts can sometimes cause digestive problems, they must be chewed thoroughly, or used to make nut butters, which are easier to digest. This is especially important for anyone with the colon problems that are more frequently experienced by Type Os.

HIGHLY BENEFICIAL
NEUTRAL
AVOID
Pumpkin seeds
Walnuts

Almonds
Almond butter
Chestnuts

BEANS AND PULSES
not encouraged coz it contains lectins that deposit in the muscle tissues and make them less acidic. Type Os perform well best when their muscle tissues are slightly more acidic, as this acidity allows Type Os to burn fat more efficiently. This is not to be confused with the acid/alkaline reaction that occurs in the stomach. In that case, the few highly beneficial beans are exceptions. They actually promote the strengthening of digestive tract and promote healing of ulcerations – a Type O problem because of their high levels of stomach acid. Even so, eat dried beans in moderation, as an occasional side dish.

HIGHLY BENEFICIAL
NEUTRAL
AVOID
Aduki beans
Black-eyed beans
Pinto beans
Black beans
Broad beans
Cannellini beans
Chick-peas
Green beans
Lima beans
Peas – green
Sugar – snap beans and peas

DAIRY PRODUCTS AND EGGS
Should severely restrict their use of dairy products. Your system is ill-designed for their proper metabolism, and there are no highly beneficial foods in this groups’ diet. Food allergies are not digestive problems. They are immune system reactions to certain foods. Your immune system literally creates an antibody that fights the intrusion of the food into your system. Food intolerances, in the other hand, are digestive reactions that occur for many reasons, including cultural conditioning, psychological associations, poor quality food, additives or just some undefinable quirk in your own system.
Other type Os may eat an occasional egg and small amounts of dairy products, but it is generally a protein source your blood type. Be sure, however, to take a daily calcium supplement, especially if you are a woman, since dairy foods are the best natural source of absorbable calcium.

Blood Type O : Introduction

BLOOD TYPE PLAN : 0

Type O : The Hunter
  •  Meat eater
  • Hardy digestive tract
  •  Overactive immune system
  • Intolerant to dietary and environmental adaptations
  •  Responds best to stress with intense physical activity
  • Requires an efficient metabolism to stay lean energetic

The Weight Loss Factor
You will lose weight initially on the type O diet by restricting your consumption of grains, breads and pulses. The leading factor in weight gain for type Os is the gluten found in wheatgerm and wholewheat products. Instead of keeping you lean and in a high energy state, the gluten lectins inhibit your insulin metabolism, interfering with the efficient use of calories for energy. Eating gluten is like putting wrong kind of petrol in your car. Instead of fueling the engine, it clogs the works.

Foods that Encourage Weight Gain
Foods
Description
Wheat gluten
Interferes with insulin production; slows metabolic rate

Haih laa~

What is Your Blood Type?

Salam semua. Hari ni nak share tentang satu buku yang saya pinjam kat library bertajuk 'Eat Right for Your Type' hasil susunan Dr. D'Adamo. A very informative book. Enjoyss! :)

The essence of the blood type connection rests in these facts :
• Your blood type – O, A, B or AB – is a powerful genetic fingerprint that identifies you as surely as your DNA.
• When you use the individualized characteristics of your blood type as a guide for eating and living you will be healthier, you will easily reach your ideal weight and you will slow the process of ageing.
• Your blood type is a more reliable measure of your identity than race, culture or geography. It is a genetic blueprint for who you are, a guide to how you can live most fully.
• The key to the significance of blood type can be found in the story of human evolution : Type O is the oldest; Type A is evolved from the agrarian society; Type B emerged as humans migrated from north into colder, harsher territories; and type AB was a thoroughly modern adaptation, a result of the intermingling of disparate groups. This evolutionary story relates directly to the dietary needs of each blood type today. (aku pun tak brape paham tang ni, abaikan je lah noo)

If you follow your blood type plan regime carefully, you can :

- Avoid many common viruses and infections.
- Lose weight, as your body rids itself of toxins and fats.
- Fight back against life-threatening diseases, such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and liver failure
- Avoid many of the factors that cause rapid cell deterioration, thus slowing down the aging process.

---That's all for now. Make sure you know what's your blood type. Then it is easier for you to plan your meal, if you care to do so :) How to know yours? I knew mine while doing experiment in Biology Lab at SERATA, Ipoh 6 years ago. Also when I donated my blood for the first time at DQ 3 years ago. There are several ways to know yours. All the best! :D

Oh Cafetaria!

November, 18 - Ten of mahallah's cafeterias have been closed after the inspection made by Gombak's health inspectors under the Ministry of Health Malaysia.
The other SIX CAFETERIAS IN MAHALLAH THAT ARE STILL OPENED are
1. Hafsah's cafeteria
2. Asma's cafeteria
3. Nusaibah's cafeteria
4. Halimah's cafeteria
5. Asiah's cafeteria
6. Safiyah's cafeteria

Also,

7. Cafeterias in the Centre

Those ten cafeterias failed to achieve 65% rating. the operators were asked to close those cafeterias immediately and were given two days to do cleaning operation for SECOND INSPECTION. they have to achieve 80% rating in order to pass the inspection. IF THOSE CAFETERIAS FAIL TO ACHIEVE 80% RATING, THEY WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL THEY FULFIL THE REQUIREMENT.
Referring to the Act, they have to be closed for 14 days but FFSD had made an appeal to allow them to be opened by this Tuesday.

For the affected students, you can choose one of the following alternatives:
1. Eat at the sisters' cafe that are still operating
2. Eat at the centre
3. Eat outside of IIUM

Sumaiyah :
I know some of the cafes are not too clean. In fact, they are not clean at all. This way they will be reminded of the cleanliness. I know profit is important, but please don't neglect the cleanliness of the cafe and the food itself. Too bad these things happen to our community i.e. Muslim Community.

Think what you eat is clean? Think again :)
